This month, we're revisiting a few classic wine regions with fresh, modern takes on their traditional styles.
Prost Riesling Feinherb from Mosel, Germany is bright and apple-y. It has a touch of residual sugar, but it's so well balanced that it doesn't read as "sweet," but instead brings a tart, lemonade-like finish. Riesling is an incredibly food friendly wine, serve this ice cold with almost anything flavorful or spicy.
Pere Anselme, Côtes de Provence Rosé drinks a little rounder than what we've come to expect from Provence rose. It tastes like ripe cantaloupe and strawberries and has a texture that leans just a little bit creamy. It's completely dry and very refreshing, serve it with cold salty snacks like shrimp cocktail or salami.
Cueva De Lobos Rioja Joven Tinto is brand new to Georgia! Winemaker Javier San Pedro Ortega makes this 100% tempranillo using semi-carbonic fermentation, which makes this wine pop with acidity and smell like the fancy kind of raspberry jam. It's light enough to take a little chill but structured enough to pair with a burger.
