Domaine Gerard Duplessis Chablis 1er Cru Vaugiraut, 2021, 750ml

$67

Description

This domaine has been in the Duplessis family for five generations. Lilian has recently taken over the winemaking from his father Gerard, and has stayed true to high standards that built their pristine reputation. This family ONLY grows Chardonnay and the resulting wine is some of the most precise and lively takes on Chablis that I’ve ever tasted.

This cuvee is from the Premier Cru vineyard of Vaugiraut, which is known for its limestone rich, chalky soil. The more limestone, the more intense the acidity and minerality in the wine. Lilian is making this wine in stainless steel tanks, so you get all of the character from the fruit without any oak to tie it down. It truly soars! Duplessis is collectable wine for those who love both natural wine and French classics. It’s drinking great now, but you could age it for 5 or 6 years and it will evolve to its full potential.
