This Sicilian, Carricante-dominant (70%) Etna Bianco is loaded with flavors of citrus, dried fruits, ash, and crushed rocks. ‘Nerina’ is the only white cuvée that Giuseppe Russo makes and we absolutely love it.
There's a satisfying weight to this white wine with saline, rocky notes and a smokiness that made me say out loud, "Do I want BBQ?" You rarely crave a burger when drinking a white wine, but this one will get you there. Other ideas that pop up: charred octopus over creamy risotto, stone-hearth fired white pizza, or just plain drankin cause this one is a stunner.
