Our goal with this month’s wine club is manifest Spring weather. March in Atlanta is a confusing time - can I wear shorts? Do I need to bring my puffer? But we’re closing in on those few weeks of mild weather bliss, and these three wines were chosen to hit just right on the warm afternoons or slightly chilly evenings.

Herència Altés Garnatxa Negra It’s Spanish Garnatxa (Garnacha), but leads with red fruits like tart cherries and wild strawberries, which is unexpectedly fresh if you’re more familiar with deep, dark Spanish wines. Winemaker Nuria Altés uses organically grown grapes and makes her wines by spontaneous fermentation.

Altos de Montanchez Vegas Atlas Rosado This month’s pack includes a small study in Spanish Garnacha - Altés’ red and this rosado that we special ordered from Altos de Montanchez. It’s a dry rosado that tastes like fruit punch bubblegum, it’s just begging for a grilled dinner on a covered patio. This is a Press Shop exclusive, so get it while it’s available!

Suavia Soave Classico Have you ever tried Garganega? It’s bright and lemony, and as it warms up, tastes like nectarines and almonds too. There’s a nice amount of creamy texture and minerality in this wine, so pair it with flavorful seafood, perhaps scallop crudo if the weather is warm and lobster bisque when it dips into the 40s again.
