Description
The unique treatment in this photo was created by hand—and by chance—through a process called souping. The image was first shot on film; then that film was soaked in a mixture of various substances (the soup) and left to dry. Once dry, Mallory developed and scanned the film herself. What resulted was this dreamy, colorful scene of palm trees rising into the sky in Rincon, Puerto Rico.
