Born into a winemaking family, and with extensive winery experience in New Zealand, Germany and South Africa, 29 year old Christoph Heiss has decided to focus on his own project in eastern Kamptal. Using chosen parcels of the Weingut Heiss’ 12 hectares of vines, Christoph has developed a very small production of stunning ‘Malinga’ natural wines. Organically farmed grapes are hand-harvested, spontaneously fermented and sometimes aged on lees. All the wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered with low sulfur addition.

A new 'entry' red from Malinga, this blend of Zweigelt, Sankt Laurent and Blauburger is super juicy, edgy, and bursting with red fruits and spice. Delightfully light and fun, but most importantly delicious. Made by Christoph Heiss, a young producer who has recently taken over his family's winery in Engabrunn, Kamptal, and is producing some of the most exciting wines in Austria today. Christoph is a big proponent of natural farming and biodiversity, and we're excited to follow him on his journey.
