Kelley Fox "Nerthus" Skin Contact Blend, 2023, 750ml

This is my favourite Nerthus by far. This version is made of 60% Early Muscat and 40% old vine Weber Vineyard Pinot noir and because of the timing of the picks, the Early Muscat finished just before the blanc de noir (whole cluster pressed) Pinot was racked into it to finish its own fermentation for integration. It was allowed to complete malolactic fermentation. Élevage was in stainless tanks until bottling. The Nerthus 2023 is a very pale rosy salmon-peach wine with shimmering golden energy and brilliant transparency. It has juicy peach, vanilla, and blossom notes along with ocean minerality on a pleasing frame that reminds me of peach skin, and it’s bone dry. I hope you enjoy this alpine-feeling wine as much as I have enjoyed making it.
