Villa Creek Cellars, Farmhouse Whites, 2023, 750ml
Description
All great wine begins with a passionate farmer. The grapes of the area’s most progressive vineyards, James Berry, Denner, Bassetti, and Luna Matta currently grace the wines of Villa Creek Cellars. Per acre contracts insure that the fruit comes off the same blocks each vintage.
Paso Robles is THE place in California for Rhone-style wines, and people are finally giving it the recognition it deserves. Its chalky soils and diverse climates are perfect for growing the varietals of Southern France. The 2024 vintage is composed of Picpoul Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Falanghina; atypical varietals for the region selected for their complementary acid structures and aromatic profiles. Aromatics range from petrichor and yellow florals to fennel, toasted sunflower seed, white peach, and pear, integrated with a delicate creaminess. The palate follows with precise acidity, a linear brightness layered with phenolic grip, and a mineral-laced finish characterized by lemon rind and saline.
