Barbacàn Rosato 'Alpi Retiche,' 2024, 750ml

$44

Description

Barbacàn rosato is made from a blend of 70% Chiavennasca (the local name for Nebbiolo) and 30% indigenous varietal grapes from this region such as Róssola, Rossolino Rosa, Brugnòla, Pignòla, and Negrera all grown organically in San Giacomo di Teglio, Valtellina, on steep terraced vineyards at high altitude with granite and schist soils. This wine is unfined, unfiltered with no added sulfites and under Alpi Retiche IGP designation.

A delicious rosé that is light-bodied, crisp, fresh and so easy drinking. Its color is like salmon pink, with aromas of fresh rose petals and warm strawberries. The mouth surprises with ripped berries, green apple and candy cherry, backed by a slight touch of smokiness. The acidity is well-balanced, bringing up the freshness and crispiness. A wine that will appeal to both rosé lovers and non-lovers.
